About Our Logo Design Process

Are you another pizza joint in Manhattan? – Don’t worry about it, we got your logo design needs covered.
What makes you unique? Why would I want to eat there today? Are you the cheapest? Are you the best and that’s why you cost more? These are some of the questions we will ask you about your business in order to find out what it is that makes you unique. We will then use that information to properly brand your company. In order to appeal to your target market. …Who is your target market?
Logo Design Services and What to Expect
I consider logo design a solution driven art. In order to properly brand your business, I will lead you through a series of exercises that will help us both identify a proper market placement for your business. We can then tailor the design to reflect that essence of your business.
You can expect to speak to me the Designer and not a call center or intern; and our initial conversation will be pleasant and informative. What you can expect not to hear during that initial conversation is sensitive information which is reserved for clients. For example; I will not go in to great detail pitching design “ideas” because I believe that both the process and the ideas are what make me unique and set my business aside from my competition.
Typically I work with a three draft evolution process. This means after the exercises are complete I will compile the information and begin work on the first draft. When I present the draft I do so as a “final” because there is no use in sending out anything that’s less than finished. If we “nailed” it you have a fully functional ready to use logo design. However, if you feel that there is room for progression we would discuss the draft, reevaluate it and proceed on to the second version.
The second draft can be an evolution of the first or a clean start if we missed the mark with the first. Notice I’m using we because my clients are a part of the design process and not just accepting/rejecting drafts. At this point I will again present the draft as a final and I expect you to critique it as such moving in to the third draft if necessary. I do offer an unlimited amount of “tweaks” for the final accepted version of the logo design until you are happy with the results. The tweaks include such things as; “Can we make this green a bit more green?” or “Can we move this tagline a little lower?” etc.

Why This Logo Design Method?
Frankly, because it’s worked for me and my clients for over 15 years. It is my belief that this logo design method makes for the most efficient use of your time and money. Mainstream “logo design companies” up sell their logo designs based on drafts. Essentially if you’re paying them for six logo design drafts and they present them all at once and you “pick one”. You’ve just paid them to waste your time on the other five. You also just paid them to keep their designers busy so they can skim more off the top through outsourcing and this makes for a much more profitable business model on their end.
